Going to miss M'sia

Well Shuan and I just got done packing, and we picked up all our wedding photo's today. There are so many to look at and go over to see what will go into our album our what will be like "who were those people... Had to be wedding crashers... just kidding" but some people showed were people that even Shuan never met. Anyway, we stopped by the mall today and Shuan got some pampering done before we are making our 16 hour flight/20 hour journey (includes layover in Taiwan) back to SFO. THEN we board a United flight back to Reno and should be able to catch the last few minutes of Halloween in Reno. We will be coming back again and this is a great place for those who want to experience new foods and a very fun city.

Back in KL leaving soon

We are back at the parents house in KL and the flight was a little delayed back to KL. Some reason a small passenger plane decided to blow the back tire while taxi-ing back to the airport. Well maybe it blew in landing but the passengers and plane looked ok, therefore everything worked out and we got back. Right after dinner they popped in the wedding video again and wanted to watch the whole thing again... I will leave it at that, but it was a fun day and at least we have a lot of photo's and a video to look back on it all. Tomorrow we are headed to a mall for a little while then will come back and start to pack. I think the posts might get a little dull from here on out but I will keep typing to let everyone know were we are at.

Time to leave the island

Today we are heading off the island and back to KL to hang with the parents a few more days before flying back to Reno. Seems like relaxing you just don't get enough time but we did get some pool time and swimming in before the day ended yesterday. I uploaded another photo of the pool we hung out at. Yesterday was really cool and when you get a chance google black sands Malaysia and we saw the only place were this stuff happens. The island is nice and the people are really helpful as well. We will most likely be back to this resort to relax and enjoy the resort again.

Room with a view

Shuan and I made it to our new room and this is the view from the balcony. Now that we have time to relax I will get more time to upload some of the photos we have been taking and plus the monkeys. Feisty little bastards too, but they do look cute. We are off to enjoy a drink at the bar and relax some more as the sun goes down and things start getting cooler here. Tomorrow will be a nice day of cruising around the island and looking at some or the natural features of the island. Some cable car system that goes tot he top of the highest hill (maybe mountain but hill to US). They have some duty free shopping as well so we will see if there is any good stuff to buy or it is an island rip off to get tourists to spend more money.

Wedding went great now in LongKawi

Been a few days since Shuan and I got time to add some words, because we were super busy with the wedding over the weekend. The wedding went wonderful and Shuan looked gorgeous that day. We had a lot of fun and there was 200 of her friends and family friends were there. We are now on the honeymoon relaxing at the island resort. We decided to upgrade the room so once we get switched to the bigger room I will take some photos. Everything here has been great so far and we rented a car to drive around and do sight seeing tomorrow and wendesday. Lunch time so need to go find something to eat and book some massage appointments.

Amazing race fans

Those who watch the amazing race might remember this from a few seasons ago when they went to Malaysia. This is the Batu Caves which is a Hindu worship place (I guess) but anyway was fun to climb all 272 steps and enjoy the view from the top of the city in front. Another really cool thing was all the monkeys running around as well. Little suckers are angry when they want to be, but pretty much left the humans alone. At least no one was taunting the little buggers.

Good Eats M'sia style

Here is the photo of the nice breakfast we got before doing a few wedding things that day. It is fish head soup, but like I said zero heads... The fish was very good and was a nice good start to the morning. Lately I don't miss the greesey bacon or over cooked eggs some places serve for breakfast LOL.

Off to Genting

We are getting ready to leave for Genting this morning. Should be an interesting day but I think we will have fun. Will be nice to see the gaming side of Malaysia and what the casino's look like. I guess it is higher in elevation and also they make you wear long pants and shirts with a collar.

Tired of taking snaps

Yesterday was the longest day of the trip it felt like because we had to take our wedding photo's to bring home. However, the whole process was a living nightmare from about noon when lunch was late. We started the morning off eating Bakuteh at a really nice place on the way to the photo's and I thought that would start our day off nicely and it did. Bakuteh is like soup you eat with rice and spicy sauce, loving every breakfast over here as you don't get sweet stuff or eggs. We got to the photo place around 9:30 as planned and like most Asian cultures no one is in a hurry here or likes to follow time. We hung around for a while waiting for everyone to show up to work. We spent most of the day changing outfits and posing in so many directions I can't smile today. Then around 4 o'clock we finally got to eat lunch and back to more posing. I have no photos to add because they wouldn't let us use a camera in the studio. After the last snaps at 8 we got some dinner at another hawker and this time it was dark noodles one of Shuans fave's and it was really good. The service here is humble and all your dishes come in a bowl of scalding hot water. As you might figure need to sterilize everything LOL. The bugs are pretty ruthless and think they can own the house but I smash every mosquito I see, little buggers are fast. Anyway to round out the evening we met up with some of Shuans old friends and that was fun, started drinking coffee and ended some how with one guy mixing scotch with wine... crazy people LOL. Today we will be picking out all the photo's and seeing which ones will go to print for us to bring back. I hope they all turned out well and I am sure they will have some cheesy asian stuff to it, but that makes for the experience and the reason we did them.

Long day not much accomplished

Well we are finally back at the in-laws home and it was a long day. The nice thing though is we started out with a local breakfast with a Chinese flare. Fish Head Soup in Condensed Milk and boy it was good. Shuan was telling me that this dish is a Chinese style dish but only found in Malaysia, and I wish she could make this back home. Ya I know you are thinking big smiley heads sticking out of some white broth, and I thought the same thing too but actually it is the meat taken from extremely large fish and there is no eye balls (picture to come later). Well tomorrow is going to be interesting as I found out we will be at the wedding photo place for about 6 to 8 hours... Wooooo who... Well the nice thing is it is cheap and also we will have some really nice wedding snaps of us finally :)... Shuan actually got her nails and toes painted for the event too LOL. Ok off to bed and wish me luck on the photo event.

Good Food and Mall visit

Shuan and I wen to get some good food and headed to a mall as well. Here are some of the photo's of the local eats and the mall.
And Yes that is an Ice Ring in the middle of the mall, but that is just one of the wings. So far everything has been a lot of fun, and the people seem humble. Even when driving if you don't like being cut off this is not the place for that person. So many people just nudge and shove their way in to the next lane. I find it very eficeint and traffic flows faster. Funny the only thing going through my mind is that the person behind is going to take out a gun, but the good thing here in M'sia is that they are illegal so cut off who ever you want.

In Malaysia

Siew Shuan and I have made it to M'sia and everything is quite interesting I should say. The first thing we did when we got through customs was hit a hawker and get some curry and roti canai. The food is really good here even though dad didn't think it was a good place to eat. I also wanted to add a photo we took in Taiwan in front of the art building there. I really liked the looks and the way it was designed. Too bad there wasn't any good exhibitions going on ... Well always a next time.
Last night we got a chance to go to a Chinese wedding, it was a good introduction into what is awaiting me come next Sunday. Today we are going to get fitted for our wedding outfits for the photo's. Siew Shuan just walked by with a bucket of clean clothes and she said there is no clothes dryer here. First thing that hit me was it is humid well really humid and how is anything going to really dry outside ... Thinks that make you go hummmm...
Well time to get ready and see what new stuff awaits me today.

Sitting in Internet Cafe

Hello again everyone this time it is Michael putting something up. I know Shuan hasn't done anything yet, but she needs to get her hair done and all before we leave to Malaysia. Anyway, I am here in a Taipei internet cafe checking emails and seeing what is going on. We will add pics soon but I need to get my laptop on a free link as everything in Taipei cost money. Will try and get some time tonight to type out some more, and at least I got to ride a Moped over here with Shuans friends brother. Crazy cruising the streets of Taipei on the back of one of those. Almost want to rent one and cruise it around town.

sitting in sfo-int

we are relaxing in sfo and found out that tmobile owns this airport. Zero Internet service in international. However, apple and AT&T come to the rescue and now I can start our blog. Flight will leave at 130 am which is crazy being we arive in Taipei at 600 am the next day from now. As always this starts our adventure to Asia and my new battle with bugs I have never met in the states.
